Porsche once again reminds teams that the following points have to be noted:
Running in:
At the beginning of the running-in procedure of the new car (within the first 5 laps) the following work has to be carried out:
1. Remove the wheel nut and security cup (964.341.675.70).
2. Check the torque of the central hub fastening bolt (996.331.671.90). Torque value: 490 Nm. Caution: Tighten the central hub fastening bolt at right angles and without bending the tool. It is recommended to use a support between the wheel centre and the ground.
3. Fit the security cup (964.341.675.70) by trying several positions until the cup locks into the desired position. If this is not possible, you must continue to tighten the central hub fastening bolt (max. 520 Nm) until the security cup fits.
4. Fit the circlip (900.041.041.01).
5. Fit wheel.
6. Tighten wheel nut (964.361.675.70). Rated torque value 460 Nm.
Caution: make sure that the thread surfaces are always clean, free of abrasion
and slightly coated with grease.
Maintenance:
1. The wheel nut thread surfaces must be carefully cleaned and reapplied with grease.
After each race, the torque of the central hub fastening bolt must be checked as described above.
